Garden Betty's Whole Grain
The protein in this recipe comes from the oats, sunflower seeds, wheat, kamut, lentils, sesame seeds, flax seed, and brewer's yeast.
The Calcium comes from the oats, and oyster shells.
Another thing that the author mentions about the oats is that they are inexpensive, and that you can use the oats in any form, "oats groats, steel-cut oats, rolled oats, and quick oats."
The Black Oil Sunflower Seeds can be substituted for standard sunflower seeds. But the author of the original article indicates the the regular sunflower seeds "tend to be larger than BOSS with thicker shells." The author also indicates that the "high oil content gives feathers a beautiful gloss."
